Tiffin Glass Company Controlled Bubble Paperweight

Nov 27, 2023 | Museum Monday Treasures

Today’s Museum Monday treasure from the Museum of American Glass in WV is a Tiffin Glass Company controlled bubble paperweight with a red core encased with pink, polished window sides. It was probably made by Orie Mitchell. We also have a Tiffin Glass Company pear paperweight in Cornsilk (yellow), with controlled bubbles and a large interior hollow. This one has a foil label: “HAND MADE / TIFFIN” and is signed on the bottom: “O. M,” for Orie Mitchell. These paperweights probably date to the 1950s.
