Martin Massman Stueben Art Glass Collection
Permanent Display
Martin Massman was a Broadway and television producer who had a passion for Stueben art glass. He started with his first piece, a Koala Bear and the collection grew to 213 pieces, the second largest collection of Stueben in the world. Upon his passing, The Massman estate began looking for a home for the collection. The will stipulated that the collection should go to a non-profit museum, be shown as a complete collection for a period of a minimum of 5 years. Several major museums felt that they would love to have the collection, but they couldn’t meet the stipulations. Finally, MAGWV was recommended as a possible home for this extraordinary collection. The museum board met and agreed that this was a unique opportunity and voted to accept the collection. It now sits proudly at the front entrance to the museum for all to enjoy.
